“Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” That’s the theme for this year’s celebration of International Women’s Day.

According to unwomen.org, the day highlights the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world, in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, in an address to mark the occasion, said his Government is committed to true equity for women.

Nevis’ Junior Minister of Gender Affairs, the Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, also issued an address on the day and spoke of the aforementioned theme.
