“It won’t happen again” – Attorney General Garth Wilkin comments on fraudulent marriages
That was Federal Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, and Attorney General (AG), the Hon. Garth Wilkin who on April 2nd 2025, spoke on fraudulent marriages in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
He reported that there are about 1200 suspected cases that occurred in the federation.
The penalty for such an act, if convicted, is the revocation of citizenship, and for nationals if they are convicted, could be charged with fraud. AG Wilkin commented on the likelihood of legal procedures in such cases:
