Ivor Walters Primary & Charlestown Secondary dubbed winners of the Primary & Secondary Interscholastic Spelling Bee Competition

Making its first return since the commencement of the Covid 19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education (Nevis) held its 14th annual Interscholastic Spelling Bee on Friday.

 

 

 

The primary school segment saw a total of ten schools participate for first place through a series of different rounds.

 

 

 

The event resulted in the Ivor Walters Primary School, represented by Kylee Wilkin, Duchess Sutton and Kare’nique Storrod as the winner.

 

 

 

 

The Nevis Academy represented by Kaelen Powell, Isaiah Herbert and Shrivalladh Adhau in 2nd place and 3rd place went to the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School represented by Zakiyah Stapleton, Amiya Archibald and J’ Marion Dore.

 

 

 

The other participating schools included the Jocelyn Liburd Primary, St. James Primary, Charlestown Primary, St. Thomas’ Primary, Montessori Academy, Maude Crosse Preparatory and the Violet O. Jeffers Nicholls Primary School.

 

 

 

For the secondary category, the Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) won that segment and was represented by Kenjahlee Blair,  N’Kosanae Hanley, Tejanah David and Anuscha Newton.

 

 

Nevis International Secondary placed 1st runner-up, represented by Aaron Woolward, Jazara Davis-Nisbett, David Ali and Junior Persaud. The overall Best-speller was  N’Kosanae Hanley of CSS.
