That was Mr. Orville “Kem” Bartlette, the Newest Grill Master on Nevis. On Sunday June 7^th, 2026, the Department of Gender Affairs on Nevis, successfully hosted its 4th Annual Grill Master Competition at Big 6 Flavors Restaurant in Gingerland.

Along with the other contenders, Tee Liburd, and Royston Queeley, Bartlette showcased his edge on grilling skills, creativity, and presentation before a judging panel comprising of Llewelyn Clarke, James Eaton, and Derrick Good.

Along with the title, Bartlette has earned the competition’s grand prize of an all-expenses-paid trip to Palm Bay, Florida, where he will represent Nevis at the Dr. Packer 10^th Annual Barbecue Competition. Bartlette told the VON Newsline that he was grateful for the support of his family and partner and shared his sentiments on going to represent Nevis:
