Latrelle Warner – Creator of the Citizen Security Secretariat’s New Logo

 

On Thursday December 5th, Mr. Latrelle Warner was declared the winner of the Citizen Security Logo Contest among 12 participants, who were called to create a logo for the Citizen Security Secretariat.  It will serve as the permanent emblem of the secretariat differentiating the governmental organization and its activities and initiatives from others.

 

Mr. Warner’s design is titled: “Citizen Security: Partnership for Safer Communities – Together, We Can!” It incorporates elements and symbols of national symbolism (the flag and its colours) and community. The logo can be described as a circular centerpiece adorned with the nation’s flag surrounded by interlinked figures that incorporates a shape alluding to a heart. Warner is quoted as saying, “The hearts remind us that empathy and love are essential in building a safer society.”

 

For his winning design, Latrelle received a cash prize of EC$1000. Other note – worthy entrants who were monetarily recognized for their submissions were Tiffani Browne and Shamire Allen, the first and second runners-up respectively.

 

According to a press release from the Citizen Security Secretariat, this logo: “embodies the government’s ongoing commitment to fostering community partnerships aimed at reducing crime and promoting social harmony.”
