A non-fatal shooting incident occurred in the Newtown area in St. Kitts, during the early morning hours of Saturday August 8^th, between 3 AM and 5 AM.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) said the victim, a male resident in the Newtown area, sustained gunshot wounds during the incident and sought medical attention at the Joseph N. France General Hospital. He is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and recovered some items of evidential value. Investigations into the matter are ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist this investigation is asked to contact the nearest police station or report anonymously via the Crime Stoppers’ hotline, 707.

The shooting comes over two months after a non-fatal shooting incident occurred on Thursday May 28^th, where a twenty-one (21)-year-old male sustained gunshot wounds on Baker’s Corner, St. Kitts.
