Lawmen investigating report of sacrilege at Catholic Church, in St. Kitts

A report of a break-in at the Catholic Church in St. Kitts, has made the rounds on social media and police have confirmed the incident to the VONNEWSLINE.

 

A police spokesperson told the VONNEWSLINE that lawmen are investigating “a report of sacrilege at the Roman Catholic Church on East Square Street, Basseterre, following a break-in discovered on Tuesday August 19th.

 

Sacrilege is the violation of what is regarded as sacred.

 

Donations from the church’s collection box were reported missing
(the total is unknown) and safes belonging to the St. Vincent De Paul fund, were tampered with.

 

The matter is under investigation.
