M.O.E St. Kitts addresses Sep. 4th delay in school meals delivery

The Ministry of Education-St. Kitts addressed a delay in the delivery of school meals on Monday, September 4th (the beginning of the school year in SKN) and offered its heartfelt apologies. Students and teachers within public preschools, primary and secondary schools in St. Kitts returned to their classrooms on Sep. 4th.

In light of this, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education-St. Kitts, Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, said “the ministry will make the necessary adjustments to ensure timely lunch deliveries…we deeply care about the well-being of our students.”

The School Meals initiative, launched in 1982 by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, provides meals for all primary school students and those in high school who require assistance.

The program was established with the aim of offering high-quality balanced meals that promote healthy bodies and minds among the nation’s students. It has been extended to include some private schools.
