A deceased male was discovered on Sunday morning August 3^rd, at the old Bridge Club property in Fortlands, Basseterre, St. Kitts, police say.

A police spokesperson said the body was found in an advanced state of decomposition and was subsequently identified as that of 63-year-old Hubert Joseph Carty.

His cause of death was not immediately apparent, however an autopsy will be conducted to determine the circumstances.

No public announcement was made until efforts to locate and notify his next of kin were concluded, which was out of respect for the deceased and in accordance with established protocol, lawmen said.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force extended heartfelt condolences to Mr. Carty’s family and loved ones.
