Maternal and Newborn Health highlighted for World Health Day 2025
World Health Day 2025 was observed on April 7th, by members of the World Health Organization (WHO), who shed light on a number of pressing health issues.
Prime Minster of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Federal Minister of Health, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, spoke on this year’s theme: “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures”:
PM Drew stated that an average of 546 pregnant women and also babies received medical care at the two major hospitals in the federation from 2020 to 2024.
He further underscored the work of the Ministry of Health in providing additional resources and support:

Additionally, on Monday, pregnant women received pregnancy care and support from all health centers across the federation.
