McKnight man receives 96-month sentence for 2020 robberies

A McKnight man has been sentenced to His Majesty’s Prison for two (2) counts of demanding with Menace and one (1) count of Robbery.

 

 

 

According to a police communique, the offences were committed on June 22nd 2020 and July 24th 2020, respectively. Jamal Slack of Fiennes Avenue, Basseterre, St. Kitts, was sentenced to serve 22 months in prison for the 2 counts of demanding with Menace committed on June 22nd 2020.

 

 

 

Back in 2020, Mr. Slack escaped custody on July 28th and was wanted by police in relation to several offences including robbery, house breaking, larceny and escaping lawful custody.

 

 

 

He received a sentence of 78 months for the of Robbery committed on July 24th 2020. However, Mr. Slack’s combined sentences, totalling 100 months, were reduced to 96 months or (eight years).

 

 

 

His sentences are set to run concurrently. The judgement was handed down on April 12th 2024, by His Lordship, Justice Iain Morley, KC.
