A Sitting of the National Assembly was held (today) Wednesday July 8th, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay, St. Kitts, at 10am.
The event included the Election of Speaker (the Hon. A. Micheal Perkins who will serve as Speaker for another term), Deputy Speaker is Dr. the Hon. Bernicia Nisbett, Oath/Affirmation of Allegiance by Members and the Throne Speech, by the Governor General of St. Kitts & Nevis, His Excellency, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, LL.D.
The sitting also signified the opening of the National Assembly, following the June 5th General Elections here in St. Kitts & Nevis.
