Mental Health Dialogue Focuses on Safe Home Environments for Youth

A mental health dialogue and animation launch aimed at promoting safe and supportive home environments for young people was recently held in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The event, titled “Building a Safe Space at Home,” was organised in collaboration with the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund, the National Counselling Centre and the Ministry of Health.

Discussions focused on how improving the home environment can support the mental well-being of young people by creating spaces where they feel safe, heard and valued.

Participants also explored how mental health is linked to issues such as physical health, behaviour, academic performance, crime and violence.

A highlight of the event was the launch of a new animation designed to raise awareness about the importance of supportive family environments.
