Meteorological (Met) officials continue to monitor the progress of an active tropical wave over the Eastern tropical North Atlantic Ocean.
St. Kitts Meteorological Services and NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) said “the system is expected to become a tropical depression or storm this weekend or early next week, as it moves in the general direction of the region.”
At this stage, it is still unclear when this system will develop or whether it will impact the region.
Interests in the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this tropical wave. There are no tropical cyclone alerts, watches or warnings in effect for the area.
NEMA urged all to “remember the 3 P’s of Preparedness: Prepare, Plan, and Practice.”
