Minister of Education addresses the nation as Child Month 2023 begins

‘Empowering Our Children through STEAM Education’ is the theme for this year’s celebration of Child Month, STEAM being Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

 

 

 

Over the last 38 years, the month of June has been used to recognize the rights and well-being of children in St. Kitts and Nevis through celebratory and awareness activities.

 

 

 

Addressing the nation at the beginning of the month was Federal Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley:

Activities began on June 1st with a church service at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and June 2nd was dubbed ‘Transition Day’ where students from pre to high school had the opportunity to spend a half-day in an orientation exercise in the class they will be transitioning to in September.

 

 

 

Future activities will include the Child Month Parade on June 9th, ‘STEAMagine’ Cantana on June 14th and ‘Read with me – Family Fun Time’ on June 21st and 22nd
