The Federal Minister of Education, the Hon. Jonel Powell has provided an update on the construction of the new Basseterre High School in St. Kitts:

He also announced a Program to ensure that teachers are Vaccinated ahead of attending classes for the upcoming term:

The Basseterre High School had been earmarked for reconstruction, due to the various health concerns with the old building on Victoria Road, St. Kitts, making the environment unsafe for students and teachers. 

The proposed site for the new Basseterre High School is at the southern end of the Basseterre Aquifer situated at Ponds Estate, Basseterre.
