Minster of Tourism-St. Kitts, Hon. Marsha Henderson spoke on the ministry’s work in improving tourism and marketing the island as a year-round, desirable travel destination, during the “InFocus” program.
The International Maritime Organization (IMO)a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for regulating maritime transport, has a mandate that requires cruise ships to turn off while at a port and plug into the shore power.
Minister Henderson stated while Pier 1 at Port Zante has the capabilities it is not yet possible with out finding alternative forms of energy to supply this power. She made this statement:
