That was St. Kitts’ Junior Minister of Social Development and Gender Affairs, Hon. Isalean Phillip on the occasion of International Day of Families recognized on May 15th.
According to the United Nations, International Day of Families 2023 focuses on the megatrend of demographic change and its impact on families. It also seeks to share current knowledge on demographic trends, including ageing and intergenerational solidarity and recommend family-oriented policies to respond to the needs of families around the world.
During her address, Minister Phillips spoke on the importance of co-parenting in single parent families and the need to strengthen and maintain bonds between family members. This she said, would help children be raised in a healthy and positive environment:
