The Ministry of Agriculture- Nevis (M.O.A) in recognition of World Food Day which will be celebrated on (October 16th) is hosting a week of activities until Friday October 18th, under the theme: “Right to Foods for a Better Life and a Better Future”.
On Monday, the activities featured M.O.A. staff devotions at 8:30 a.m. at the Larinson Parry Agricultural Depot in Prospect Estate and an address from the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Eric Evelyn.
The activities for the rest of the week include: grow box donations to various nurseries and preschools on Tuesday 15th, talks in schools on Wednesday 16th, staff and farmers training on Thursday 17th focusing on the topic of “Bio-stimulants” at the N.D.M.D. Conference Room at Long Point from 9:00 a.m., and finally, on Friday 18th, a fruit tree distribution at the Propagation Unit in Prospect Estate.
In a social media post made by the ministry, they stated: “Together, we can raise awareness about the #RightToFood for everyone, everywhere.”
