Ministry of Education-St. Kitts issues apology for “inaccurate notice”

The Ministry of Education-St. Kitts has issued apology for an “inaccurate notice” that was published on Monday May 27th 2024 regarding the closure of school for summer and the re-opening of school for the new academic year 2024-2025. EMU (Education Media Unit) within the Ministry asked “all persons to disregard the information that was sent out earlier.”

 

 

 

The VONNEWSLINE spoke with the EMU in St. Kitts and a representative said “the inaccurate notice” had July 5th 2024 as the “official date” for the closure of schools.

 

 

 

The following are the accurate dates and details for the closure of school for summer and the re-opening of school for the new academic year 2024-2025:

 

 

 

July 9th 2024 – Last day of school for students, July 12th 2024 – School officially closes and September 2nd 2024 – Re-opening of school for the academic year 2024 – 2025.

 

 

 

However, on Nevis, a spokesperson within the Department of Education told the VONNEWSLINE that the last day of school for students this term (Term 3) will be July 10th. Term 3 is scheduled to officially end on July 12th for the island and the new school term will also begin on Sep. 2nd on Nevis.
