Ministry of Social Services in St. Kitts issues statement on the passing of Celian “Martin” Powell

The Ministry of Social Services, Community Development and Gender Affairs has issued a statement, following the passing of the late Celian Irene “Martin” Powell of Zion Village, Nevis,

 

Minister of state within the ministry of Social Services, , the Hon. Wendy Phipps, said of Ms. Powell (and I quote), Ms. Powell has been fondly remembered by her family and close friends as being a tower of strength whose absence from their lives will be deeply felt.” End quote.

 

She also expressed her “sincere condolences to the immediate and extended family, and friends of the late Celian Irene “Martin” Powell”, on behalf of the management and staff of the Ministry of Social Services, et al.

 

Ms. Powell passed away on Sep. 30th 2019, at the age of 107 years. She will be laid to rest tomorrow Saturday Oct. 19th.
