MSR Media withdraws high court claim, “just before the matter was set to go to trial”
A judicial review claim brought by MSR Media against the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis (or the Federal Government) was withdrawn on Monday morning (Mar. 24th). It took place “just before the matter was set to go to trial in the High Court”, a release from the Federal Government says.
MSR Media is a UK-based Boutique Film and TV Production Company, which has produced several movies on Nevis such as: “The Island”, “Christmas in the Caribbean” and “A Week in Paradise”.
The case, filed in May 2024, was scheduled to be heard by Resident Judge, Her Ladyship Madame Justice Tamara Gill. The Federal Government added that “according to an order issued by the court, MSR Media is to formally discontinue the claim by (today) Tuesday March 25th.”
This withdrawal brings to a close the second of two legal actions initiated by MSR Media in 2024: the firs, a civil RICO Lawsuit filed in the United States District Court in Tampa, Florida—was also voluntarily dismissed in December 2024.
But whatelse does the withdrawal mean? With the withdrawal of the judicial review matter, all legal proceedings brought by MSR Media against persons and entities in St. Kitts and Nevis concerning the CBI Programme, have now concluded based on information from the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
