A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis is urging nationals to apply for the 2026 Italy-Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) Fellowship. Described as a “life changing international programme”, it offers early-career professionals from AOSIS Member States hands-on training in climate change, environmental protection, sustainable development, and ocean governance.

The release highlighted that no national from Saint Kitts and Nevis has participated in the fellowship to date. Selected fellows will be based in New York City for one year, working from their country’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations on both national and AOSIS priorities.

Fellows receive a round-trip airfare, a US$5,000 settling allowance, a laptop, comprehensive health insurance, a monthly stipend of US$4,000, and funding to attend major international meetings.

Candidates must be 25–32 years old, hold a relevant degree, have 1–3 years’ experience in government or international organizations, commit to returning to national service, and demonstrate discretion, sound judgment, and strong academic and English writing skills.

Applications, including a CV, cover letter, and writing sample, must be emailed to foreignaffairs@mofa.gov.kn  by November 28, 2025, at 4 p.m. For more information and assistance please call the ministry at 467-1161.
