NDMD and NEMA included in Capacity building climate resilience project

Natural disaster risk assessments and managing climate change impacts are both very important factors. These play significant roles in safety measures for disasters.

 

With this knowledge, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD) have been included in a project entitled Capacity building to facilitate climate resilience and disaster risk management and private sector access in climate finance.

Project Manager of the Caribbean Community Climate Centre, Manuel Matthis gave these details:

The purpose of the “Strengthening of St. Kitts and Nevis’ National Emergency and Disaster Management” project is to enhance the country’s capacity to manage disaster risks and build resilience to the impacts of climate change. Specifically, the project aims to:

 

Mr. Matthis continued by saying that this initiative is also designed to create partnerships and collaboration to support effective implementation of climate change in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
