NDMD partners with PDC in advancing its National Disaster Preparedness Plan

The Final Results Meeting Agenda for the National Disaster Preparedness Baseline Assessment (NDPBA) Workshop-Nevis edition was held on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at the Nevis Disaster Management Department Conference Room at Long point.

 

 

 

The aim of this workshop was to develop partnership and expand disaster management networks, provide a forum to exchange ideas, information and best practices and to provide findings of the National Disaster Preparedness Baseline Assessment and the importance of each stakeholder or representative that were present at the forum.

 

 

 

There were discussions along with the findings of multiple hazards that can affect the island such as Tsunami, Wild Fire, Landslide, Hurricane, Earthquake, Flash Flood Exposure, Extreme Heat exposure and more.

This workshop was a collaborative effort with the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) and the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD). There were representatives from the Nevis Fire Department, Ministry of Health, Nevis Air & Sea Ports Authority (NASPA), Premier’s Ministry, NEVLEC, Dept. of Planning and Agriculture. Additionally, a similar workshop was held in St. Kitts on the same day.
