Nevis Animal Speak approved as externship site by University of Florida

Local veterinary clinic, Nevis Animal Speak, is set to welcome its first extern from the University of Florida this summer.

 

 

 

The clinic was on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 approved by the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine as a suitable externship site to help teach future veterinarians.

 

 

 

This announcement was made by Premier of Nevis – Mark Brantley on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

 

 

 

Nevis Animal Speak is a non-profit charitable organization that offers “at or below-cost of medical care for animals, a targeted focus on population control through spaying/neutering and continuing education of [their] clients to help maintain best practices in small animal care.”

 

 

 

They offer services such as vaccines, wellness exams, parasite control, routine medicine, spay/neuter, soft tissue and minor wound care, post-operative care, basic lab diagnostics and more.

 

 

 

Mr. Brantley in congratulating the clinic was quoted as saying: “This is a huge step for our country as our charity clinic increases its international exposure. Nearly 10 years ago, Nevis Animal Speak was founded in principles of education. We will welcome our first University of Florida externship student [in the] summer of 2023”.
