The Nevis Renal Society is presently conducting an Awareness Week of activities culminating on World Kidney Day (March 9th, 2023).

World Kidney Day is a global health awareness campaign focusing on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease as well as its associated health problems.

The VONNEWSLINE spoke with President of the Nevis Renal Society, Ms. Sherolyn Pemberton who outlined the activities planned for (today) March 9th:

On Wednesday March 8th, a similar health screening took place in the Charlestown Memorial Square from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This year’s activities are focused on “raising awareness about disastrous events, natural or man-made, international or local, and their impact on people living with kidney disease whose access to appropriate diagnostic services, treatment, and care is hindered.”
