Nevis Cooperative Credit Union Celebrates 50 Years in existence

Today, Monday July 25th, the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) is celebrating 50 Years of existence.

This year, the NCCU has and continues to hold a wide variety of activities every month such as: distribution of care packages, a relay competition, several customer and staff appreciation activities, a Secondary school essay competition, just to name a few.

In 1965, the NCCU was initially registered as the Civil Service Co-operative Credit Union (CSCCU). It was then re-registered as the Charlestown Co-operative Credit Union (CCCU) in 1966. The NCCU opened its bond to the island of Nevis in 1972 and was finally re-registered on 25th July of the same year. Since then, the NCCU has been serving its members and the wider community.

General Manager of the NCCU Mr. Sydney Newton spoke with the VONNEWSLINE about some of the strides the NCCU has made over the years.
