As the Culturama festivities continue, the island of Nevis had steel pan action on Monday, July 31st in the form of the Bank of Nevis International (BONI) Night of Steel and Five-a-side Panorama Contest.

The Night of Steel section of the evening saw a number of steel bands from across the island perform a number of musical selections from a range of musical genres for the patrons present.

In regards to the Five-a-side Panorama Contest, the competition saw a total of three steel bands participating namely, Oualie Rhythms Steel Orchestra, Young Vibrations Steel Orchestra and the Nevis Development Community Band. The participating groups were tasked with making its own arrangement of the Road March of 1994, King Dis and Dat’s Caution. At the end of the contest the Nevis Development Community Band let by Mr. Gavin Patterson walked away with the title of champion with a total of 431 points.
