Nevis Expands Recycling Pilot Programme in Three Communities

The Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority in collaboration with the Taiwanese Technical Commission (ICDF), has announced the expansion of its Recycling Pilot Programme starting this October. The initiative will run for six weeks and target the communities of Prospect, Cherry Gardens and Farms Estate.

 

The VONNEWSLINE spoke with the Recycling Coordinator for Solid Waste Management Authority, Ms. Shelagh James:

 

 

Residents in these areas are asked to take part by separating and preparing their plastic bottles for collection. The pilot aims to strengthen waste management practices and guide the future of recycling across Nevis. Ms. James added:

 

 

Ms. Shelagh James. Collection will take place five days a week between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Monday October 6th.Updates and reminders will be shared on the Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority’s Facebook page, Let’s Recycle Nevis.
