The Nevis Historical and Conservation Society has secured funding from the Caribbean Culture Fund to launch a new pottery training series on Nevis.
The programme is being implemented in collaboration with Nevis Pottery and regional partners Motions of Clay from Barbados, and is aimed at reconnecting the community with the art of working with clay, while building skills and preserving cultural traditions.
Participants will receive hands-on training in both traditional and modern pottery techniques, learning directly from experienced ceramic artists and exploring the cultural heritage of Caribbean craft.
According to the Society, the initiative is also intended to preserve Nevis’ cultural knowledge, empower local makers, strengthen creative industries, and celebrate Caribbean creativity.
The Society says details on workshop dates and registration are expected to be announced soon.
