Mr. Amba Trott was born in Montreal, Canada in 1927, to Marion (née Knight) of Nevis and William Trot of New York.

Since 1950, his family owned and lived in Hamilton House, which stands adjacent to the Society’s office and museum in Charlestown. In 1985, Amba returned to his maternal home in Nevis, staying active by writing and directing plays.
