Day one of the 16 Days of Activism is commemorated as International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. 

During the launch ceremony held on Tuesday, November 24^th, Officer of the Department of Gender Affairs here on Nevis and MC of the launch ceremony for 16 Days of Activism, Mr. Mario Phillip, spoke of the activities the department has planned to commemorate the campaign and to spread the word on the issue of gender-based violence:

This year’s theme for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is: “Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!”.

Like in previous years, the 16 days of activism will conclude on Thursday, December 10^th, 2020 which is ‘International Human Rights Day’.
