Nevis’ Junior Tourism Minister to Compete in Barbados
Nevis’ Junior Tourism Minister to Compete in Barbados
Nevis’ Junior Tourism Minister, Kayla Claxton, is preparing to represent the island later this month, at the 2025 Caribbean Tourism Organization Regional Youth Congress in Barbados.
Claxton, a Fifth Form student of Gingerland Secondary School, earned her spot after winning the local competition in May. She will compete alongside junior ministers from across 13 Caribbean countries.
On Tuesday, September 2nd, she paid a courtesy visit to the Bank of Nevis’ CEO, Mr. Denrick Liburd, updating him on her preparations. The Bank of Nevis has supported the Junior Tourism Minister competition for more than a decade and remains its title sponsor.
Nevis last captured the regional title in 2024 with representative Keyana Warner and the island is once again rallying behind Claxton as she aims to bring home another victory.
