Nevis’ Minister of Culture gives feedback on Emancipation Celebration

Nevis’ Minister of Culture, the Hon. Eric Evelyn, provided some feedback to the VONNEWSLINE, surrounding the Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA) “Emancipation Celebration,” which was held on Monday, August 3rd and Tuesday, August 4th, 2020.

Those days were public holidays here in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The event featured a host of cultural acts from St. Kitts (which included bulls, clowns, masquerades and mummies).

Minister Evelyn said the event was “wonderful”:

Minister Evelyn announced in April 2020, that because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Culturama 2020 or (Culturama 46) was cancelled and rescheduled to July 22nd to August 3rd, 2021.

He added that the event over the weekend was not a substitute.
