Nevis’ Minister of Social Services reaffirms “commitment to ensuring inclusion” of Older Persons

Nevis’ Minister of Health & Social Services, the Hon. Jahnel Nisbett. Her comments were made in an address as part of the observance of International Day of Older Persons, which is observed annually on October 1^st.

The theme for 2025 is: “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being and Our Rights”.

The observance was put in place by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness of opportunities and challenges faced by ageing populations, and to mobilize the wider community to address difficulties faced by older people.

In light of this, Minister Nisbett expressed the NIA’s (Nevis Island Administration) ongoing commitment to older persons.
