Nevis’ Ministry of Education, Sports et.al has issued a statement with respect to the live streaming of Sports meets for schools.

In a press release, it said “after months of preparation, dedication and hard work, our student athletes will now take center stage to showcase their athletic talent and ability.”

The Ministry continued by saying “we strongly encourage all…to turn out in your numbers to cheer on our athletes and support each school’s sports meet…Sports Meets…also serve to foster a sense of community and school spirit.”

In that regard, the decision was made to discontinue the live streaming of the individual school sports. However, “the meets will be uploaded to NTV’s YouTube Channel and Facebook page within two (2) days after the meet”, the press release said.

However, a spokesperson for the Ministry told the VONNEWSLINE that the 2024 Inter-primary school championship (or Mini-Olympics) will be streamed live.
