In an update, the Ministry of Health has extended the Temporary Suspension of visits to the Alexandra Hospital and Flamboyant Nursing Home. 

In a release dated November 2^nd 2026, the temporary extension has been extended to Sunday, November 15^th, 2026. 

According to the ministry, this precautionary measure is intended to help prevent the spread of the Chickenpox Virus. 

Members of the public who are experiencing symptoms of Chickenpox or suspect that they may have the virus, are asked to call ahead before visiting any health facility on the island, inclusive of the hospital. 

The notice also stated that the suspension is carefully being monitored by the hospital’s Infection, Prevention and Control Team along with the Public Surveillance Team. The Health Ministry apologizes for the inconvenience this suspension may cause to all family, friends and visitors.
