The “Are you Salty” Quiz that took place on Wednesday, July 20th at the Nevis Performing Arts Center (NEPAC), was organized by the Nevis Health Promotion Unit in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Taiwan ICDF and other partners.

The question posed which resulted in the Nevis Post Office’s win was “Name three departments at the Alexandra Hospital that are closed at 4:00 p.m. but are available in cases of emergency?”

The quiz, according to the Nevis HPU, was aimed at educating the adult population on the importance of lowering our salt intake, to prevent and control Non-Communicable Diseases. The judges for the quiz were: Dr. Judy Nisbett, Nurse Ermin Jeffers, and Project Manager and Taiwan ICDF Representative – William Chen.

Other teams that participated in the event included: the Methodist Women’s League, the Eden Browne Youth Group, NEVLEC B and staff from the Audit Department.

All participating teams received certificates of participation and free health consultations from local doctors.
