Nevis’ Premier, the Hon. Mark Brantley, speaking in relation to the first responders who aided in the rescue effort of passengers from the MV Apple Syder.

47 persons (41 passengers and 6 crew members) were rescued from the ferry, as it sank shortly after departing the ferry terminal in Basseterre, St. Kitts, during the morning hours of Monday June 29^th.

Mr. Brantley gave this advice to the general public:

SCASPA (St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority) said a full investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the incident.
