Nevis’ Premier comments on lawyers being charged with serious offences

In the space of approximately one month, St. Kitts and Nevis’ citizens and resident have been rocked by news of three lawyers being charged with several offences, including Corruption.

 

Attorney at Law, Vaughan Henderson of Saddler’s Village, St. Kitts, was charged for the offences of Perverting the Course of Justice and Money Laundering. Mr. Henderson received a total of six (6) charges for Money Laundering, along with two (2) charges for Perverting the Course of Justice. He was arrested and charged on Friday, February 21st.

 

Mr. Craig Tuckett, another Attorney at Law, of Bird Rock was charged on three (3) counts of Perverting the Course of Justice on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025.

 

In a statement issued in January, DPP Mr. Adlai Smith stated that Crown Prosecutor Shantrice Dorset was charged with Misconduct in Public Office and Corruption among others (6 charges in total), committed between July 20th 2024 and October 30th 2024. Nevis’ Premier, the Hon. Dr. Mark Brantley, a former lawyer himself, spoke on the recent developments.
