Nevis’ Premier stands in solidarity with countries impacted by Hurricane Melissa and PAM offers “deepest condolences” to the people of Jamaica

Nevis’ Premier, Hon. Dr. Mark Brantley has expressed solidarity with the countries affected by Hurricane Melissa.

 

He said on social media “I extend my prayers and the prayers of the people of Nevis to the governments and people of Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba.”

 

He added “let us as we pray also remember our brothers and sisters in Bermuda where the storm is now headed. May Jehovah God have mercy.” The hurricane, one of the most powerful to strike the Caribbean, has killed at least 30 people in Haiti and 19 people in Jamaica.

 

 

In related news- The Peoples Action Movement (PAM) offered “deepest condolences” to Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, the government, and people of Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

 

PAM stated “during this difficult time, we stand united with Jamaica, moved by the strength and courage of its people. We urge the government and communities to stay united and hopeful, drawing on their determination to rebuild stronger and more focused than ever.”

 

The political party mentioned that “the journey to recovery will be challenging, but through collective effort and spirit, Jamaica will overcome this tragedy.”
