Nevis Prepares For 42nd Independence Parade and Awards Ceremony
The Nevis Island Administration is inviting the public to attend the Ceremonial Parade and Awards Ceremony in celebration of the 42nd Anniversary of the Federation of St. Christopher and Nevis. The event will take place at the Elquemedo T. Willet Park (ETW Park) on Friday, September 19th, starting at 6 p.m.
Groups and clubs interested in participating in the parade are asked to attend the scheduled practice sessions at the same venue. These rehearsals will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday September 8th, Wednesday September 10th, Monday September 15th and Wednesday September 17th.
The NIA encourages all participants to be punctual as preparations continue for this year’s independence celebrations.
Meantime – The Honourable Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis, will be traveling to Atlanta, United States, on official duties. He is scheduled to depart on Friday, August 29th and return on Monday September 1st.
During his absence, the Honourable Spencer Brand will serve as Acting Premier of Nevis.
