The Nevis Tourism Authority has released a statement regarding the recently concluded Nevis Mango Festival and the final event held on Sunday, July 2nd dubbed “For the love of mangoes”.

The statement addressed the unprecedented turnout at the event, claiming it was demonstrative of the success of marketing efforts for this year’s festival. It also when on to say that the authority is aware that the large number of patrons created some logistical challenges which detracted from the quality of the event for some who attended.

An official apology was made to the public for the challenges and the NTA said its team is in the process of undertaking an urgent post mortem to examine how improvements can be made, so that all patrons can be guaranteed a first class event for next year, when the 10th staging of the festival is held.

The weekend activities also saw a number of other activities including mango eating and mixologist competitions, tastings and a mango hunt along with the Taste of Nevis Food Tour and Supper Club.
