Tourism revenues in Nevis have more than doubled following last year’s increase in the Tourism Development Levy (TDL), according to the Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism in the Nevis Island Administration.
Addressing the public, Mr. Brantley noted that the levy was raised from 2% to 3%, with implementation deferred to June 1st last year. The results, he said, are now evident. Collections for January 2025 totaled $502,406.97. By January 2026, revenues had surged to $774,733.15.
February figures reflected a similar pattern. Revenue collected in February 2025 which represents January activity, was $383,419.38. In February 2026, that amount rose to $769,404.52 marking a record for the NTA and an increase of more than 100%.
Premier Brantley credited the gains to strong collaboration among hotels, restaurants, external marketing partners, and the leadership of the NTA, describing the turnaround as “simply remarkable.”
