Nevisians encouraged to take part in Garden Competition

The Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture is currently encouraging the public to take part in its Garden Competition.

 

 

 

Over the years, the event has seen a number of groups and individuals across the island highlighted for their achievements in farming and the natural beatification of the environment. Providing information about the competition to the VON NEWSLINE was Tourism Product Development Officer, Ms. Anthea Caines:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fruit tree gardens must have a combination of at least 10 trees and must be at least 1 year old. Vegetables garden must have a combination of at least five of the following crops namely: leafy green vegetables, condiments/seasonings, tuber/root vegetables, fruits/vegetables and legumes/pulses. Ornamental gardens will be judged on the inclusion of blooms, greenery, uncommon plants, special features and attractiveness.
