NEVLEC to hold Press Conference addressing billed charges 

According to cnn.com the “demand for gasoline, coupled with the cut-off of Russian oil shipments due to the war in Ukraine, is sending oil prices higher on global markets.” 

 

St. Kitts and Nevis has not been spared from these higher prices, as the Federal Ministry of Finance has issued notices in the past few months reflecting adjustments in the prices of unleaded gasoline.  

 

Members of the public on Nevis have seen these changes reflected in their electricity bills from NEVLEC, specifically in the fuel surcharge.  

 

Premier of Nevis and local Minister for Public Utilities and Energy, Hon. Mark Brantley, when questioned recently on how NEVLEC calculates for the fuel surcharge gave this response:
