New Horizons Rehabilitation Center Students welcomed back to Elevate programme

Students of New Horizons Rehabilitation Center were welcomed back to the Elevate Programme as they returned to school on Monday.

Project Coordinator of Elevate, Alicia Collins lauded the tutors for their teaching strategies and ability to connect with the students, helping them overcome learning barriers.

Elevate Educate is “a component of the Elevate Program and provides free educational support to students of New Horizons Rehabilitation Center, their families, and surrounding communities”, a press release says.

In July 2023, the Elevate Programme officially replaced the Alternative Lifestyle Pathways Programme, commonly referred to as the Peace Programme, which was introduced in March 2019, under the-then Team Unity Administration.

With subject offerings including English, Mathematics, Spanish etc. the program is designed to prepare learners for CSEC examinations and provide second-chance pathways for youth and adults.
