New School based Assistance Programme to be launched in St. Kitts
New School based Assistance Programme to be launched in St. Kitts
The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs and Ministry of Education in St. Kitts are working together to soon launch a new School Based Assistance Programme.
Four main services will be provided to its applicants. A School Uniform Assistance Programme will target single parent households, the unemployed amongst others to provide uniforms.
There will also be a high school book loan programme where students will have access to subsidized textbooks to ensure they have every opportunity for academic success.
To provide support to low income families and reduce the cost of daycare and preschool, persons would be able to apply to the Early Childhood Subvention Programme.
Finally, to help with alleviating the heavy costs associated with CXC CSEC and CAPE Exams, a CXC Waiver Programme will be introduced to prevent hindrances in secondary and postsecondary education.
