New SKN Smart Shopper App to Transform How Citizens Access Consumer Services

The St. Kitts Consumer Affairs Department is set to modernize consumer protection with the launch of two digital platforms aimed at improving access and accountability. According to a press release issued on February 4th, the new Consumer Affairs Website and the SKN Smart Shopper Mobile App will officially be launched on February 18th, 2026.

The department said the platforms will allow citizens to access “consumer rights information, price tracking data, advisories, and digital complaint submission with real-time tracking.” The initiative is part of the Federation’s broader digital transformation, supported by the Digital Transformation Unit.

Officials emphasized that the move goes beyond technology. “This transformation is more than a technological upgrade; it is a shift in how government connects with citizens,” the release stated, highlighting commitments to “transparency, accountability, and accessibility in public service.”

With the new systems, consumers will no longer need to rely on “in-person visits or paper forms,” as services will be available “anytime, anywhere.” The department added that the platforms are designed to be “simple, secure, and user-friendly,” and encouraged citizens to prepare to engage with “a more responsive, citizen-focused consumer protection system.”
